FRSC warns officers to desist from unprofessional conduct

The Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Pankshin Unit Command in Plateau, Mr Nnamdi Ikeh-Akabogu, on Wednesday warned officers and marshals of the command to desist from unprofessional conduct during and after patrol operations.
The Unit Commander gave the warning in Pankshin Local Government Area, at a one-day workshop organised by the command to enlighten the personnel on operations of the corps.

Ikeh-Akabogu, in a paper titled, `Impact of Unprofessionalism and Misconduct on the Corps Corporate Image`, called on patrol officers to eschew any behaviour capable of dragging the image of the corps in the mud.
“FRSC is an ISO-certified agency, as such must live above board and at the same time work to uphold the tenets and principles of the founding fathers of the Corps, based on good operational conduct.
“Therefore, all hands must be on deck to make sure that the FRSC’s corporate image does not fall below the expected standard,’’ he said.
Ikeh-Akabogu advised personnel of the command to always strive to create a friendly atmosphere during their patrol operations and educate motorists on the need to obey traffic laws at all times.
He said FRSC would not rest until zero crash was achieved in the hinterlands, the states and the country at large.
According to him, the command will continue with its public enlightenment campaign to educate motorists and commuters on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations on the highways.
