Chelsea fc work begins in Beijing
The Chelsea players underwent their first training session in Beijing earlier this morning as our tour of Asia began.
Having arrived in China late last night (local time), the squad made the short journey from their hotel to the AOTI Stadium after breakfast.
Antonio Conte, fresh from signing a two-year contract, oversaw the session, which began with some warm-up jogging and stretching, before the players worked on their short passes.
They were then split into three separate groups – defenders, midfielder and attackers – for a keep-ball session, with the defensive players watched by Paolo Vanoli, one of two new members of Conte’s backroom team.
In hot and humid conditions, the group then came together for some more work with the ball using a larger area of the pitch.
Conte’s squad will train once again this afternoon as they prepare for Saturday’s friendly against London rivals Arsenal at the Bird’s Nest, a game which can be watched live via this website.
